By providing superior taste, one can abstain from inferior taste. Otherwise it is very difficult for him to give up the inferior taste. All glories to all Vaisnavas.

So true the morning practice gives the conection to God which makes other carnal desires tolerable. I vouch for this.

This is such a simple and sublime way to connect to God but in today’s world we have gone far away from reality by aping the animal life that is followed in the western countries.

What we have got is completely dissatisfied minds, jobs that make us work out of our skin, broken families and shallow relationships.

Wish to thank the authors for this beautiful website.

Lord Krishna also says that it is the very rare soul who knows Him through devotional service, and that too after many many births. As such, the majority of the population is misdirected by their past Karmas and are not in a state to understand celibacy and service to God. Thank you for this beautiful article and please pray for these souls that they may meet a devotee like you again and seriously accept service to Krishna, thus starting on their road back to Godhead.

Prabhuji has rightly said that more than holding back the sex desire, more important is to engage oneself in the service of Krishna and his devotees… once the mind is engaged, the lustly desire would be quite managable…Thanks for sharing such an article… You all monks are really hope for degraded people like me..

Celibate monks are truly rare which makes the monks at Radhagopinath temple a rare species. It is absolutely amazing that in this age of materialism, these people have given up wealth , name, fame, power, etc and dedicated their lives to propagate Krishna Consciousness and to uplift conditioned souls like us. We are truly grateful to them for their wonderful service. God bless them all.

Wonderful article. Indeed very true that people normally look at people who follow the spiritual path with pity as if we are missing something in life. they feel we lead a meaninless life without enjoyment. Little do they know what bliss is there in spiritual life and in connecting to God. And Celibacy – they think people who practice celibacy are crazy and have wasted their lives. I wish they realize the higher joy that is experienced by celibates on the spiritual path.

In this age of Kali explaining some one about regulative principle is more difficult than teaching a mathematics.Even close relatives and family members don’t accept the truth.Under the various illusory articles of today’s material world they are all misguided. But it is a great service by monks in Radhagopinath ashrams to tell these misguided souls and pray for them to get themselves engaged in the service of the Supreme Personality Of Godhead Sri Krishna.Very nice article thank you very much.

The joy of renouncing sex is not just to be relished by life-long celibates, but also by householders who are “done with” using this miraculous tool in the service of the Lord.

    Jan 7th, 2013

the way a monk deals with and looks at sex life is an unknown approach and yet so natural in such a lifestyle. It is really motivates one to follow their practices and teachings.

Who in this world except spiritualists like Radhanath Swami Maharaj and his followers can give this kind of knowledge? The society and the world is in dire need of such spiritual knowledge to prevent incidents like the Delhi Gang rape and also to give a meaning and direction to everyone’s life.

  68. Tallam Sita Ramaiah

    Feb 16th, 2013

“Marriage is a sacred institution where dedicated spiritual practitioners in the company of a like minded spiritualist seek God. For some others who want to be exclusively focussed on God without any distractions, renounced order practise of celibacy is a bonafide method.” The difference between a true grihasta and a brahmachari is well explained by this. The purpose is same i.e seeking God.

  69. pranjal

    Apr 23rd, 2013

Celibacy is practiced in India from long back but western ideas have polluted our culture…Celibate monks are very neccessary for any society as they practice self control over material desire and thus can guide them in good and bad as they have no selfish motives. They only think of Krishna and welfare of every human being.

  70. umesh

    May 1st, 2013

Indeed the renounced order of life is worth respectable by the householders. It is this sort of life only which keeps us reminding actually what is the goal of our life.
